| ۱ | این چه بادِ صَرصَر است از آسْمان پویان شُده | صد هزاران کَشتی از وِیْ مَست و سَرگَردان شُده | |
| ۲ | مَخْلَصِ کَشتی زِ باد و غَرقهٔ کَشتی زِ باد | هم بِدو زنده شُده‌ست و هم بِدو بی‌جان شُده | |
| ۳ | بادْ اَنْدَر اَمرِ یزدان، چون نَفَس در اَمرِ تو | زَامْرِ تو دُشنام گشته، وَزْ تو مِدحَت خوان شُده | |
| ۴ | بادها را مختلف از مِرْوَحه‌یْ تَقدیر دان | از صَبا مَعْمورْ عالَم، با وَبا ویران شُده | |

| ۱۱- Like a moon you are waning in the desire for leadership; let me see you like a sun, become a king without retinue. |
| ۱۲- How long will you say that smoke is a proof of fire? Silence! Let me see you become without smoke both fire and proof. |
| ۱۳- Say how long heaven has turned and goes on turning over your head; let me see you like Messiah gone above heaven! |
| ۱۴- You who seek a portion from me—“Bring this and that!”– let me see you escape from this and that, and become that and that. |
| ۱۵- Enough brawling drunkard, chattering talker, let me see you become silent-speaking like the pan of the balance. |
