غزل ۱۷۰۵ مولانا
| ۱ | از ما مَشو مَلول که ما سخت شاهِدیم | از رَشک و غَیرت است که در چادری شُدیم | |
| ۲ | روزی که اَفْکَنیم زِجانْ چادرِ بَدَن | بینی که رَشک و حَسرتِ ماهیم و فَرقَدیم | |
| ۳ | رو را بِشو و پاک شو از بَهرِ دیدِ ما | وَرْنی تو دور باش، که ما شاهِدِ خَودیم | |
| ۴ | آن شاهِدی نِهایم که فردا شود عَجوز | ما تا اَبَد جوان و دِلارام و خوشقَدیم | |
| ۵ | آن چادر اَرْ خَلَق شُد، شاهِدْ کُهَن نشُدْ | فانیست عُمرِ چادر و ما عُمرِ بیحَدیم | |
| ۶ | چادر چو دید از آدمْ اِبْلیس، کرد رَد | آدم نِداش کرد تو رَدّیْ نه ما رَدیم | |
| ۷ | باقی فرشتگان به سُجود اَنْدَرآمدند | گفتند در سُجود که بر شاهِدی زدیم | |
| ۸ | در زیرِ چادر است بُتی کَزْ صِفاتْ او | ما را زِ عقل بُرد و سُجود اَنْدَرآمدیم | |
| ۹ | اَشکالِ گَنده پیر زِاَشکالِ شاهِدان | گَر عقلِ ما نداند، در عشقْ مُرتَدیم | |
| ۱۰ | چه جایِ شاهِد است، که شیرِ خداست او | طِفْلانه دَم زدیم، که با طِفْلِ اَبْجَدیم | |
| ۱۱ | با جوز و با مَویز فَریبنَد طِفْل را | وَرْ نی که ما چه لایقِ جوزیم و کُنجَدیم؟ | |
| ۱۲ | در خود و در زِرِه چو نَهان شُد عَجوزهیی | گوید که رُستَمِ صَفِ پیکارِ اَمْجَدیم | |
| ۱۳ | از کَرّ و فَرِّ او، همه دانند کو زن است | ما چون غَلَط کنیم که در نورِ احمدیم؟ | |
| ۱۴ | مومن مُمَیِّز است، چُنین گفت مُصْطَفی | اکنون دَهان بِبَند، که بی‌گفتْ مُرشَدیم | |

| ۸- “Beneath the veil is an idol who by his qualities robbed us of reason, and we, prostrate, fell.” |
| ۹- If our reason does not know the forms of the foul old men from those of the beauties, we are apostates from love. |
| ۱۰- What place is there for a beauty For he is the Lion of God. Like a child we prattled, for we are children of the alphabet. |
| ۱۱- Children are beguiled with nuts and raisins, else, how are we meet for nuts and sesame-grains? |
| ۱۲- When an old woman is hidden in helmet and chainmail, she says, “I am the illustrious Rustam of the battle ranks.” |
| ۱۳- By her boast all know that she is a woman; how should we make a mistake, seeing that we are in the light of Aḥmad? |
| ۱۴- “The believer is discriminating”—so said the Prophet; now close your mouth, for we are guided rightly without speech. |
| ۱۵- Hear the rest from Shams the Pride of Tabriz for we did not take the end of the story from that king. |
