غزل ۱۶۳۴ مولانا
| ۱ | عقل گوید که منْ او را به زبان بِفْریبَم | عشقْ گوید تو خَمُش باش به جانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۲ | جان به دل گوید رو بَر من و بَر خویش مَخَند | چیست کو را نَبُوَد تاش بِدانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۳ | نیست غمگین و پُراندیشه و بیهوشی جوی | تا من او را به میْ و رَطْلِ گِرانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۴ | ناوکِ غَمْزهٔ او را به کَمانْ حاجَت نیست | تا خَدَنگِ نَظَرش را به کَمانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۵ | نیست مَحبوسِ جهان بستهٔ این عالَمِ خاک | تا من او را به زَر و مُلْکِ جهانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۶ | او فرشته‌ست اگرچه که به صورتْ بَشَر است | شَهوتی نیست که او را به زنانْ بِفْریبَم | |
| ۷ | خانه کین نَقْش دَرو هست فرشته بِرَمَد | پَس کِی‌اَش من به چُنین نَقْش و نشانْ بِفْریبَم؟ | |
| ۸ | گَلِّهٔ اسب نگیرد چو به پَر می‌پَرَّد | خورِ او نور بُوَد چونْش به نانْ بِفْریبَم؟ | |

| ۱۳- He is not a seeker of fame, a prince addicted to poets, that I should beguile him with verses and lyrics and flowing poetry. |
| ۱۴- The glory of the unseen form is too great for me to beguile it with blessing or Paradise. |
| ۱۵- Shams-i Tabrīz, who is his chosen and beloved-perchance I will beguile him with this same pole of the age. |
